Sitting at a restaurant is always the best way to enjoy the food. However, most of us are often in a rush, without enough time to sit at some nice place. And that’s where the food trucks step in. I love Calgary for its offer of various food trucks where you can find delicious food.
I will now share all the trucks I love the most.
1. Purple Pastry Chef
Right out of the gate, I’ll talk about Purple Pastry Chef, which is by far my favorite food truck. Picture this: delicious pastries straight out of the oven, lovingly adorned by hand, and best of all, available on the corner of your street.
- Tagged and Bagged: Dessert, Cupcakes, Gluten-Free, Vegan—whatever your dietary restriction, they’ve got you covered.
- Quality Ingredients: No artificial nonsense here. They bake with the best, opting for fresh and seasonal goodies.
- Liquor-infused treats: For those who like a tipple, their liquor-laced cupcakes are a must-try.
- Artistry on Wheels: Each pastry is crafted with passion and precision.
2. Jane Bond Grill
Next up, Jane Bond Grill takes the spy theme and runs with it, serving up a menu so dangerously good, it should probably be classified. From sliders that slide right into your DMs to those delicious sausages that are my absolute favorite, this truck is a great option if you’re seriously hungry and crave some stronger food.
- Innovative Menu: Expect the unexpected—artisan platters, unique sandwiches, and hors d’oeuvres that will steal the show.
- Customizable Offerings: They’re ready to tailor a menu just for you, making every meal personalized.
3. Happy Fish Truck

For over six years, Happy Fish Truck has been the big fish in the pond of Calgary’s food truck scene. Their menu is proof of seafood excellence, with items like Mango Fish Tacos and Kimchi Fries that marry traditional and modern with a twist. I really love their combinations and advise that if you see this truck, come and check it out. Their food is really top-notch.
- Craft Beer Batter: Their fish and chips taste much better with craft beer batter.
- Signature Taco Platter: A trio of taste with mango fish, bulgogi beef, and tempura prawn tacos is the best. Try it, and you will see what I’m talking about.
- Fusion Dishes: Korean-style poutine and chocolate banana rolls? Yes, please!
4. Wilk’s Booth
Wilk’s Booth might just be the hero we all need but don’t deserve. Specializing in burgers that make your knees weak, they serve up perfectly cooked burgers while toppings are plentiful and delicious. If I had to describe the food from this truck, I’d say they are delicious burgers, but with some intelligent local twist you’ll love.
- Homegrown Goodness: Featuring homemade beef patties and local ingredients that sing Alberta pride.
- Creative Concoctions: From the Ranchmans burger with maple-chipotle BBQ sauce to the Truffle burger, each is a masterpiece.
- More Than Just Burgers: Their menu rounds out nicely with sides like crispy mashed potato spring rolls and homemade onion rings.
5. The Rolling Munchies
Travel the world with each bite at The Rolling Munchies. Their menu spans from Truffle Fries to Salmon Power Bowls so that with every meal you choose to taste, you feel like you are traveling across the globe.
- Diverse Menu: Whether you’re in the mood for a Chipotle Chicken Wrap or craving some Veggie Samosas, they’ve got a plate for every palate.
- Quality and Freshness: Only the best ingredients make the cut, meaning that each dish will be as nutritious as it is delicious.
- Innovative Pairings: Combining flavors like jalapeno and green apple in a salmon bowl? I thought it wouldn’t work until I tasted it.
6. Vasili’s

Rolling into the heart of Calgary, Vasili’s brings a slice of Mediterranean food. Here, the aromas of grilled pita, tzatziki, and feta mix to create a menu that’s a straight-up homage to Greece but with a twist that keeps things interesting. I personally love Greek food, and whenever I don’t have time to eat it at the restaurant, I visit this lovely truck.
- Authentic and Inventive: Classic Greek dishes with a gourmet twist.
- Quality Ingredients: Only the freshest, which means every bite is packed with real Mediterranean flavor.
- Vegetarian-Friendly: With options like the Veggie Pita Wrap, everyone gets a taste of Greece, even those who don’t eat meat.
- Hearty Portions: Portions are pretty large, just as I remember when I was at the seaside in Greece.
7. Confetti YYC
Last but definitely not least, Confetti YYC is here to shake things up—literally. Their milkshakes are the stuff of legend, with classic and extreme versions that are more dessert than drink. Trust me, these shakes are potent, so if you want something sweet, one will do for you.
- Delightful Desserts: From classic shakes to mega milkshakes topped with donuts, your sweet tooth will thank you.
- Fun on the Go: Who doesn’t want a bit of whimsy with their meal? Their fun approach to food makes every visit a treat.
Summary
I’ve laid it all out for you—Calgary’s cream of the crop when it comes to food trucks. These bad boys don’t just serve up meals but dish out full-blown experiences. Forget about fancy-schmancy restaurants. Why bother when you can grab your grub curbside and savor it in the great outdoors, soaking up that sweet Calgary air?
I’m not saying that these trucks are better than the restaurants, but there is something special about their food. Take at least one day during the week to check some of these places, and I guarantee you will not regret it.
